A MAC address is a unique identifier assigned to every network-connected device — including your Android TV, TV box, or phone. Apps like Simba Player use it to recognize your specific device during activation, since it can't be duplicated or shared by another device.
Method 1: From the app itself
Most media player apps, including Simba Player, display the device's MAC address directly on the login or setup screen the first time you open them — no need to dig through system settings.
Method 2: From Android TV settings
- Open Settings on your Android TV
- Go to Network & Internet (or About on some models)
- Select your active connection — Wi-Fi or Ethernet
- Look for MAC Address in the connection details
The exact menu wording varies slightly by manufacturer, but "MAC Address" (sometimes shown as "Wi-Fi MAC Address" or "Ethernet MAC Address") is always listed somewhere under network or device information.
Wi-Fi vs. Ethernet MAC address
Most devices actually have two MAC addresses — one for Wi-Fi and one for the Ethernet port — because each network interface gets its own. Make sure you copy the MAC address for whichever connection type you're actually using; switching from Wi-Fi to Ethernet (or vice versa) later means your device will show a different MAC address.
What it looks like
A MAC address always follows the same format: six pairs of characters separated by colons, for example 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E. It never changes on its own and can't be edited manually — it's tied to the physical network hardware.
